Waxing Questions & Answers

Q: How long does my hair have to be to get waxed?

A: Your hair should be at least 1/4 inch long which is about the length of a grain of rice. Usually two weeks of growth for your first wax.

Q: How often do I need to get waxed?

A: Every 3-4 weeks depending on your growth cycle. Consistency is key to achieve the best results!

Q: Can I get waxed on my period?

A: Yes! Just make sure to wear a fresh tampon. Also note you may be a little more sensitive than usual.

Q: Can I wax while pregnant?

A: Yes! Waxing is safe for pregnancy!

Q: What is the difference in all of the bikini waxes?

A: A Bikini Line Wax is just the outer part of your bikini. It is precisely 4 finger widths off of the sides and two finger widths off of the top. The Full Bikini Wax is as much, or as little, you want taken off of the front. It doesn't include the butt strip. The Brazilian Wax is as much as, or as little, taken off of the front and includes the butt strip!

Q: What are the do's and don'ts of waxing?

A: DON'T Use any AHA's or Retinoids for 3-5 days before having that area waxed. It can result in lifted skin!

DO Exfoliate 48 hours prior to your wax to ensure your hair isn't trapped under any dead skin cells.

DO Moisturize every morning and evening to keep your skin hydrated and nourished. This also allows the hair to grow back in smoothly and prevents hair breakage during your wax, meaning less ingrowns and a more comfortable wax!

DON'T Shave, Tweeze, Nair or use any other form of hair removal in between your waxes! You will increase your risk of ingrowns, mess up your growth cycle and have to start your wax journey all the way back over which means you have to regrow your hair out for two weeks and go through the pain all over again. Just don't do it, it's not worth it!

DON'T Wear tight clothes to or after your appointment! Let your skin breath and allow it time to heal. Your pores stay open for 24 hours after your wax so just be easy on your skin.

DO Wait 24 hours for exercising, swimming, tanning, sex, soaking in a bathtub/hot tub, or any kind of saunas! Again, your pores stay open for 24 hours post wax so we don't want to introduce any bacteria into them!

DON'T Exfoliate more than 3x a week! Over exfoliating can lead to excessive dryness and irritation and can actually cause more damage than good. Stick to 3x a week and if you feel that isn't enough, ask your esthetician about other methods of exfoliation.
